Your First Tandem Flight: What to Expect

Booking your first flight? Here's what a typical tandem baptism looks like.

Before you fly

Wear closed shoes and dress for the season — a windbreaker is handy. Bring sunglasses and water.

The briefing

Your certified pilot straps you into a harness in front of them and explains the take-off: a few running steps and the wing lifts you gently off the slope.

In the air

Most flights last 20–30 minutes. You sit comfortably and simply enjoy the view. Tell your pilot if you'd prefer it calm or want a few gentle turns.

Landing

You'll approach a large open field and touch down on your feet with the pilot's guidance. Most people want to go straight back up!
